lately i've seen some pesky bugs with typepad....
anyone else seeing this behavior?
1) the blogit bookmarklet: when i use the blogit bookmarklet the title is not sticking for some reason. instead of what i enter into the title field, it is replaced by the page title of the source. (which also becomes the url).
2) facebook: when crossposting to facebook, whether through reblogging, or authoring from the compose page, images and videos are not appearing (on the fb side). instead, the text from my post is simply displayed alongside my typepad profile pic. who wants to see THAT over and over again?
*sad face*

Hey guys! Thanks for your attention and effort on this issue. The title bug is definitely fixed. And posted images are now appearing in the fb stream. The profile image is grabbed as Michael described, only in the event that I haven't included an image with my post. Really appreciate it, dudes! Keep up the great work!

oops...you can disregard that comment about it being a quick fix. For some reason I thought your blog post was 8/29, not 7/29. There's nothing quick about this in relation to 7/29 :s But fixed nonetheless!

Hi Kateri, the Facebook sharing bug is getting fixed in a release this afternoon. You can thank Satoshi (http://tanimoto.typepad.com/) for the quick fix :) I'll tell you now...there is one case when things will still be odd. When your post doesn't have any images, we'll still default to your profile picture. The reason is that for some reason, Facebook started to randomly pick up images off the page when we don't specify one (e.g. a small avatar from your "Following" list gets randomly picked up). For now, the lesser of the two evils is to default to your profile pic.

Hi Kateri, I filed the second issue but I can't reproduce the first issue. Is it still happening for you? If so, which browser are you using? Thanks.

TypePad generates open graph protocol markup to help Facebook find the right picture, but it generates a tag for each of the images in your post and then a tag for your userpic. (and then, for some reason, a second identical tag for your userpic.)
So my best guess would be that Facebook was previously taking the first og:image tag and using that, but it switched to the last og:image tag instead? It doesn't look like anything changed on the TypePad side recently that would inspire this change in behavior, but I guess some further investigation is required.

Yeah, I noticed the latter with my latest post. I'll try to make sure this gets seen by the right people.
